It's been one week
since I looked at you. Just kidding! Seriously, it has been 1 week since I've written in the blog. Labor day was this past Monday, in case you all didn't know. But if didn't know I'm sure you found out when you went to work and the place was closed! Unless you make slushies for a living at sonic, because they were open like most service related companies.
Ok, sorry. It's Wednesday, September 7th, 2005. On this day in history in 0070, the Roman army under Titus occupied and plundered Jerusalem! And, in 1963 it was the 1st US TV appearance of Beatles (Big Night Out-ABC).
My friend, Abbey had her wedding portraits taken last weekend. You can see them here. I think they turned out really good. They were taken after the wedding, so the wrinkles in the dress are going to be taken out with photoshop, so the dress looks clean and fresh. Jamie, Abbey's sister is fantastic photographer, and she took all of the pictures.
You can see more of her pictures and read about her in her blog, just click here.
I've been listening to the new Deathcab For Cutie CD over the last few days (thanks to Ginger, thanks to Daphne). It's called "Plans." It's a great release, they write wonderful, beautiful melodies, not to mention lyrics. And Ben Gibbard's voice puts me at ease almost instantly. I love it. I was also recently introduced to a band called Long-View. They are from England (Manchester). I have only heard what's available to listen to on their myspace page, but it is really good stuff. I'm anxious to check out more, see what's available at the record store! Click here, check them out, let me know what you think.
Speaking of bands, my friends in the band, iSOLA just released new pre-order info for the upcoming release, LOUD ALARMS. Visit the website and pre-order the new cd! It's great. They recorded it completely on their own.. all owned gear and studio equipment, and complete funding done by themselves. I'm very proud and so anxious to see what comes their way this new release. Also check out the tour dates on the website. Go to a show if you can....they are really great live and are picking up big followings in Houston, Austin and the Dallas areas. They could use your support. The song "Porch Sleeper" is one of my favorites. Once I learn how to host mp3 links here, I'll start so you can hear these songs with just a click away! I'll always support isola because they are my friends first, but truly, they are a great band and should be heard - they are better than most of the shit you hear on the radio, that's for sure!
I've blabbed on about music and nothing else really so far. I wish my life was more exciting. If only I could get my ass off the couch each night after work, I'd be able to write about all of the interesting things I do and the interesting people I meet along the way. Soon, I will have new friendships I believe. Quinn and I are making a real effort this weekend. We are planning to meet some new folks on friday night. Its a friends of friends kind of thing...I'm excited.
Well it's lunch time here and I should eat before I miss my chance..got a 3 o'clock meeting today. Happy Wednesday. I'll write some more useless info later...Peace!
